• Summer Reading Program T-Shirts

    Now that the polar vortex is behind us, it's time to order summer reading program t-shirts! This year's theme is A Universe of Stories. If anyone is interested in a t-shirt, please pick up an order form at the library's circulation desk during regular business hours. Order forms are due March 1st.
  • Winter Read 2019


    January 14th-March 1st

    The Irvin L. Young Memorial Library invites you to participate in our fourth annual Winter Read program!  This year the program has been expanded to include adults! Between January 14th-March 1st participants will receive a raffle entry every time they check out eligible items from the library.  Registration begins on Monday, January 14th!
    Please note that DVDs, Blu-rays, CDs, and video games are excluded from this program.




    Best for Infants to 3 year olds

    Tuesdays 9:30-10:30 a.m.

    Rhyme Time offers caregivers and children the perfect opportunity to engage with songs, rhymes, and simple stories.  Each 20-30 minute class period is followed by a play time.

    Thursdays 9:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m.

    Thursdays 12:30-1:30 p.m.
    Best for ages 3-5

    Growing Readers allows children and their favorite adult to engage with songs, rhymes, stories, and play.  This storytime is offered in morning and afternoon sessions. Each session includes picture books, movement activities, and nursery rhymes.  Each 30 minute class period is followed by art or activities and a play time.

    3rd Tuesday of the Month

    4:00-6:00 p.m.

    Participants are provided LEGOs and the opportunity to test their engineering skills and creativity at this monthly building club.  Participants can try one of the provided building challenges or can build whatever they choose. Each child’s creation is placed on display in the children’s section until the next meeting.  Best for children ages 4-12. No registration is required.
